State of Emergency as Psychological Norm: Legislative Framework of (Ab)Normality
The project analyses the concepts of “psychology” and psychological help in Russia based on the idea of the state of emergency. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the vague notion of (practical) psychology has been developed by two forces: by the free market with its idea of consumeristic well-being and by the government with its idea of security. The project will analyze the contradictions and interactions between these two ideas in the context of the legislative initiative “On psychological help in the Russian Federation” supported by governmental actors since the beginning of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
